About the Book

Science involves observation, making guesses, checking their validity through experimentation and arriving at logical conclusions leading to the formulation of concepts, principles and theories. The trainees need to understand the nature of Science, relate it with inquiry, develop scientific attitude and based on this understanding orgenise classroom activities.

The content of present book deals with meaning, nature, concept of science, aims and objectives of Science Education at elementary level. It also elaborates science curriculum at upper primary level and various methods of teaching science. Book also elaborates various measures to popularise science in schools and ways of assessing children’s learning using different modes.

About the Author

Dr. Bhartendu Gupta is presently working as Assistant Professor in DIET Dilshad Garden. He has obtained his Masters in Physics from HPU Shimla, M.A Psychology from IGNOU, M.Ed from Regional Institute of Education Ajmer. He has qualified National Eligibility Test in Education and has also been awarded with M.Phil and Doctoral degree in Education. He has more than 18 years of experience in the field of Teacher Education. As author he has written books on Environmental Education and Science Education, also contributed as subject expert in many manual, handbooks, curriculum revision. Contributed significantly in In-service programmes for Teachers at various levels as Resource person. He has a special interest in Educational Research and published many research papers in various journals.
