PREFACE

It is authors pleasure, introducing another book on Accounting for the class XII students. This book includes the ‘Partnership and Company Accounts. This is an addition to many books already written on this discipline for the class XII Accounting students. No doubt, the existing books are very good, but as the saying goes, ‘there is always scope of proceeding towards betterment. The authors have gone through all the existing books in the market and with this made an humble attempt to bring out another book on this subject. The main features of this book are:

a. The accounting Concepts and the accounting treatment of the course-contents of Partnership and Company Accounts have been presented in a simple and lucid language.

b. Adequate illustrations have been given, which, if thoroughly understood and practiced, will enable the students to solve any accounting problem in their exams.

Exercises given at the end of each chapter are limited in number. The authors do not expect the students to solve hundreds of questions on a topic, burdening them to do the similar questions given through illustrations and exercises again and again.

d. The domain of each question, viz. remembering, understanding application, etc. has been indicated against it.

c. As prescribed by CBSE, separate questions of Analysis, Evaluation and Creating have been given at the end of each chapter.

f. Due care has been given to the pedagogical approach in making the book wholesome in cach respect.

The latest guidelines by CBSE regarding MCQs, other types of questions and the treatment of some Accounting transactions have been incorporated in this book.

h. The summary points given after the conclusion of each chapter will enable the students to have a quick grasp of the entire chapter studied by them.

i. Some questions, given under the heading Analysis, Evaluation and Creative Questions’ given after the ‘Short and Long Answer type Practical Questions, are challenging in nature. These have been solved and students, after attempting each such Question may match their respective solutions with those given in the book.

j. The course-contents of the syllabus have been updated as per the CBSE guidelines.

This, being the first edition, may contain some errors. The authors will feel obliged for the deficiencies brought to their notice and they will acknowledge the suggestions sent to them for improvement.
