Preface

The present book “Pedagogy of Social Sciences” has been specially designed to equip teacher-educators with as much knowledge on all aspects of social sciences as per the recommendations of NPE-1986, NCF-2005 and 2011. To bring required reforms were introduced in teacher education also. So for achieving quality in teacher education, it has developed National Curriculum for Teacher Education for adoption by all the state Universities in the country. This book has been designed according to revised curriculum and two year B.Ed. course syllabus has changed, suitable to the requirements of the student-teachers.

The scope of the book has been made broad-based and comprehensive and the approach is practical and functional. Practical approach followed in dealing with topics such as, Teaching and Learning of Geography and Economics, Teaching Learning of History and Political Science, Social Science Curriculum, Teaching Learning Material in Social Sciences & Evaluation in Learning Social Sciences has given.

The authors, therefore hope that this book which is very informative on Subject will be received by trainee-teachers as per the revised curriculum of Two year B.Ed.Course.
