Preface

A humble effort has been made to present this textbook on Paper ‘Contemporary Perspectives in Education’ for the benefit of B.Ed. students. The book has been written according to the syllabus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi but can also be used by B.Ed. students of other universities. An attempt has been made to write it in simple and clear language. It is highly beneficial from the examination point of view as headings and sub-headings have been provided to make it easy for the students to understand and learn the relevant historical background has been provided in each chapter and also the recommendations of various committees and commissions have been discussed. Therefore the book is learner-centered and examination-oriented.
